Theme: inspired by Rene of Anjou and King Rene’s Tournament book “Le Livre des tournois (Traicte de la Forme de Devis d'un Tournoi) from the 1460s

 

The fighting will be inspired by King Rene’s tournament book and have an emphasis on the heraldic display fieldside. Aaron Rebellinus is armored marshal with Master Malise as rapier marshal. The tournament prize will include a scroll in the style of the tournament book. Magister Bran is helping to coordinate the tournament prize scrolls.

 

Lady Gulia Stanizi will run the target archery for the event. Along with the courtly love theme, she has chosen "Cupid Gets the Shaft" for a themed shoot.

 

Lord Eoghan O Suileabhain will run the Thrown weapons.

 

Magistra Etain will oversee the Arts & Sciences competitions. The competitions and displays will be inspired by the life of Rene of Anjou, known for his fairness and charity, and his love of the arts. He was a supporter of the arts, illumination, gardening, sculpture, gold smithing and tapestry making.


Illuminated Scrolls - scrolls should be inspired by the artwork style of his books, The
Book of Love, and The Tournament Book, Le Livre des tournois. Any medium,
documentation encouraged.


Tapestry - artworks of fiber and illustrations intended for décor and storytelling. Any
medium, documentation strongly encouraged.


Largesse - the incoming Baronage need items that can be shared to show the bounty
and beauty of their Barony. Don’t limit yourself to the baronial colors, all gifts will be
useful. No required number of pieces, populous choice judging.


Open display - Any item inspired by King Rene’s legacy or 15 th century France. Judging
feedback will be given if requested but no winner will be declared.
